Consultation (no charge):
Before we meet: It’s good to have a few things thought through before getting together with your designer. Download our Questionnaire which lists several items worth considering when deciding how you would like your landscape project to look.
Consultation meeting: You and the designer will discuss the various items you selected in the questionnaire to develop your set of design goals. We’ll discuss what your budget is and what you might be able to expect to have done within that budget. We’ll also go over the design process and what to expect for the design fee.
The Design Process:
The design process can vary from project to project, depending on the project’s scope. Very small projects may only involve an on-site sketch. Very large projects may involve a master plan. Most of our projects are somewhere in the middle.
The designer will typically first present some conceptual design ideas in rough form to make sure our ideas are heading in the right direction for what it is you are wanting. This might be done through exchanging e-mails, meeting in person, or discussing over the phone. After getting your feedback, we will then develop a final plan which would be presented to you in person, along with a proposal for the work. In the case of a smaller project, we may send you the proposal via mail or e-mail and discuss it with you over the phone.
Design fees are collected when the design is presented. All design work is an $80 minimum charge. Design fees are due whether the project proposal is accepted or not. All design fees are applied to the final cost of the installation of the project.
Not every project involves a design. There are occasional cases when a customer has a project pre-designed to the exact detail, or has a project requiring no design (replacing a wall). Also, there are cases when just a small on-site rough sketch is adequate, there is a charge of $40 for these.
Installation:
Once we’ve settled on a proposal which works for you, we then put your job on our job schedule. As your job installation nears, we will give you a call to let you know. During the installation, we will stay in communication with you to facilitate the completion of the work. As we finish, we will be in touch to make sure everything is to your satisfaction.
Enjoyment:
Always the best part of the installation process; kicking back in your new landscape to enjoy for years to come. After the installation, we will provide all the information you will need regarding watering and care of the new landscape. In order to have your landscape stay looking its best, we would be happy to provide you with a regular maintenance package.
